Great Garnetts is an independent family business started by the late Mike Smith in 1970 and currently headed by his son Jonathan who joined the business as a partner in 1991.
The Pig and Turkey enterprise was started in 1971 and has grown in size over the years to produce several thousand Turkeys for the Christmas market and 2000 prime porkers each year.The pig herd is extensively housed on beds of deep straw and here at Gt Garnetts we are committed to stockmanship, welfare and animal husbandry of the highest standard.
We produce Turkeys for the Christmas market only, we have both barn reared white and free range bronze.
We are proud of both the quality of our product and the traditional rearing methods.
We market ourselves through both regional and national outlets, and we are well known locally for our farmer's markets, held here at the farm on the second Saturday of each month. (Please visit the Farmers Markets Page for more info on dates, times stallholders etc.)

Local customers also buy our pork products directly from our farm shop, which is now open from 2-5pm on Thursdays, and 9am-1pm on Fridays. Our on-line shopping facility is now fully operational - give it a try - press the button top right.
